You have two options for getting textbooks. They are:
1) Online: Use your course schedule to look up your textbooks on this website. Add the books you want to your cart and check out. You can pick up the books at your campus store or have them shipped to you. Payments are handled via credit card.
2) In‐store: Bring your course schedule into the campus store and pick up your books in‐person. You can charge your books to your student account or pay with cash, check, or credit card. Note that textbook rentals require a credit card in the event of non‐return of the rental.
Absolutely! Renting is the cheapest way to get your textbooks. You can also still purchase new or used books.
Definitely. We want you to treat the book like it’s your own. Do be courteous, however, and remember that someone will be using that book after you, so don’t go overboard and ruin the experience for the next renter.
You can see your shipping options, and the cost of each, at checkout. Generally, you will have three options: pick up in store, standard shipping, or expedited shipping.
Due to student privacy regulations, we are unable to provide for student account payment online at this time.
Once you have placed an order through the website, login to your account to view your order’s current status and tracking number (if applicable).
The amount of time it takes to get your books depends on the shipping speed you choose. Generally, orders are processed within 1‐2 business days after you place them.
The simplest way is to take your book into your Campus Store. It’s a quick and simple process. Alternatively, you can ship your books back to us for free. Just log in to your online account, find the books you’d like to return, and click “Return.” The system will walk you through the process.
That’s no problem. You can pay to extend your rental period by either visiting your campus store or by logging in to your online account, finding the book you want to extend, and clicking “Extend.”
Generally, rentals are due either on the last day of the semester or within the first few days thereafter. To find the exact date, either visit the Campus Store or log in to your online account, where you can view your outstanding rentals as well as the date they are due.
If you miss the deadline, your student account or credit card will be charged for the difference between the rental price and the purchase price. For instance, if you paid $25 to rent the book and the purchase price is $100, you will be charged $75. You can return a billed rental within 30 days of the billing date for a refund, minus a 20% restocking fee.
Certainly. Just keep your book beyond the return deadline, and we’ll automatically charge you for the difference between the rental price and the purchase price. For instance, if you paid $25 to rent the book and the purchase price is $100, you will be charged $75. You can find this buyout price by logging in to your online account.
We would love to buy your book! Bring it in to the Campus Store or visit our buyback site at http://buyback.treeoflifebooks.com, where you can sell books any time and ship them for free.
Definitely. Bring the book back to the store within 21 days of the course start date along with the drop slip or other confirmation of dropping the class.
You can return within 7 days of the start of your course, subject to a 20% restocking fee. If you drop the class, you can return your book within 21 days of the start of your course with no restocking fee when you bring in proof of your course drop.
Easy. Contact the store at 615‐248‐1218 during business hours or email us at hsteinmetz@tolbookstores.com anytime. For help outside of these times, contact the Tree of Life support team Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Central at 1.888.392.2930, or send them an email at http://www.tolbookstores.com/contact/.
Most of the time, but not always. We start by trying to fill your requirements according to the preference you select and we usually can. Sometimes, however, there may not be a used copy of a book available and certain types of books cannot be rented—workbooks or textbooks with access codes, for example.
Absolutely. We want you to treat the book like it’s your own. Just be respectful and please don’t destroy the learning experience for the next renter. Sorry, supplements can’t be guaranteed. You may be the 2nd or 3rd person renting this book, and supplements could be used up. Please check with your professor to see if the supplement is actually necessary. If it is, oftentimes, you can purchase the supplement separately.
You can keep any rental book you want, no problem! Just keep the book and Tree of Life will bill your student account the difference between the rental price and the purchase price. For instance, if you paid $15 to rent the book and the purchase price is $50, you will be charged $35.
If you miss the rental deadline, you will be charged the difference between the rental price and the purchase price. Billed rentals can be returned within 30 days of the billed date for a refund minus a 20% restocking fee. After 30 days we will no longer accept a return but encourage you to use our buyback program.
If you add a class, we will automatically be notified and will deliver your new book. If you drop a class, please contact our Customer Care Team within seven days of your class start date and they will help you.
As long as your books are not in violation of the Rental terms and conditions, you will be fine. If you are concerned that the books are in violation of the Rental terms and conditions, please contact us. You have 7 days after receiving the books to let us know of any damage to the book(s). After this point, you will be responsible for any damage done to the book(s)
